Job Description

 

•supporting the development and application of detailed pipeline risk-assessment tools for group-wide application;
•supporting the development and application of detailed pipeline inspection, defect assessment and repair strategies for both onshore and offshore pipelines;
•using industry-established standards to assess pipeline inspection data and advise intervention or repair options;
•supporting the development of safe and practical pipeline intervention and repair solutions, from conceptual design through to site execution, in accordance with industry codes and best practice;
•contributing to the development and maintenance of Group and Segment Engineering Technical Practices, and support their compliance monitoring activities;
•demonstrating a strong health, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance record with an understanding and commitment to safety and the environment;
•influencing and supporting projects and operations to ensure the completion of safe and effective pipeline repairs / interventions;
•working closely with the company experts to resolve the most difficult and valuable pipeline problems.
We’re looking for highly experienced Pipeline Engineers to support our operations in locations across the world. As a deep pipeline specialist, you’ll ensure the integrity and safety of our infrastructure by providing technical assurance, expertise and leadership. The most senior Pipeline Engineer in your region, you will act as a single point of contact, making decisions that will shape key projects and investments.

We’ll look to you to advise on engineering risks and monitor compliance with our Pipeline Integrity Management System. In addition, you’ll provide valuable input to new project developments and support the Technical Authorities involved.

Job Requirements

 

Educated to Degree level or similar

You’re a professional or chartered engineer who has strong technical knowledge and practical working experience in pipeline integrity and defect assessment methods. We’ll also expect you to have the design and execution of pipeline intervention, maintenance and repair methods. Your strong working knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation planning must be combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ideally, you’ll have a good working knowledge of complimentary disciplines such as corrosion, mechanical and flow assurance. A good working knowledge of metallurgy, welding, and coating would also be an advantage as would practical experience of pipeline intervention, repair supervision and HSSE management.
Desirable criteria & qualifications
